Recital Oranje Scholarship with Floris Van der Veken

July 10th, 11am - Witte Zaal, Antwerp, Belgium

In 2020, Floris Van der Veken received the Oranje scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually by the Belgian-Dutch Association together with the Consulate General of the Netherlands. 

Floris presents this recital together with Jean-Marie Van Broeckhoven at the piano.

Masterclass at Setnor School of Music

The saxophone students of Prof. A. Kunkle will present their repertoire for a masterclass in preparation of their jury.

Lecture Recital - Floris Van der Veken

April 16th, 12pm - Ciminelli Lounge, Rochester, NY

Floris will present his research on the gestural dialectics in In Freundschaft (1977) by K. Stockhausen.

The lecture will be concluded with a full performance of the piece.

NASA Competition - Excursus IV Saxophone Quartet

April 15th - Recording

The Excursus IV saxophone quartet will finalize their recordings for the final round of the NASA Biennial Saxophone Quartet Competition.

Eastman Saxophone Project in concert

April 8th, 7.30pm - Kilbourn Hall, Rochester, NY

The Eastman Saxophone Project will include Rings of Light (2021) by A. Read Thomas and an arrangement of An American in Paris (1928) by G. Gershwin in their program. 

In this concert, the Excursus IV saxophone quartet will make an appearance as well.

Woman in Music Festival

March 23rd, 12pm - Lowry Hall, Rochester, NY

The Excursus IV saxophone quartet will present Red Pine (2014) by K. Kuster on this concert dedicated to the music of women composers.

Excursus IV - Concerts in Dallas

26th-27th of February - Moody Performance Hall, Dallas, TX

In collaboration with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, Excursus IV performed on multiple concerts during a weekend dedicated to the anniversary of the orchestra and the music of John Mackey.
